Small Spaces for Growing Fruit

9:30 a.m.Coffee and Conversation
10:00 a.m.General Meeting
10:30 a.m.Program - Small Spaces for Growing Fruit
with David Quigley from King Street Vineyards

David has been growing fruit for more than forty years. The interest was sparked on his many business travels to Europe where he noticed how green space was used in and around properties to create for a family's consumption, an edible landscape.

Regardless of property size, we can make use of available growing space to create a beautiful and sustainable food source. David has taken 18 years of lessons and applied them to his less than one-acre property in Milford to grow fruit for his own use and for sale, including over a thousand individually-potted fruit producing plants. In addition to freezing fruit, he makes jams, jellies and his own bottled wine.

David will teach us how easy it is to grow fruit successfully while avoiding the many challenges that face homeowners with no experience in growing fruit.
